Custom wedding dress, is that really an option?

Can you believe that my absolutely gorgeous custom wedding dress cost just $200.00?

The dress is made of Chiffon material with a lace up back and a train. It is a strapless style with a sweetheart neckline and an empire waistline. It also has custom beading around the waist.

Best part of all...the design was my very own! How exciting it is to be able to have the exact dress you want and not have to pay a high price for it.

It is easiest when trying to explain what you want your dress to look like, that you show the person you are working with some pictures...



How I did it...

First I started looking at pictures of wedding dresses that interested me...I kept a journal of pictures by copy and pasting the pictures into a Word document. Then I looked to see if there was a certain pattern of styles that I was attracted to...I noticed I liked a lot of trumpet and mermaid styles...so I went to a wedding gown store and tried on some.

I noticed what I liked and didn't like once I actually got into them! I started looking at the necklines and what looked good on me and what didn't. I also tried on a couple other styles as well...just to get a feel for how different shapes looked.

I took this information and took parts of dresses and combined them together...like, the top of one dress, with the bottom of another dress to start putting some ideas together.

In the end, I found a dress that was very close to what I wanted, so I just asked to change up a few things about it and to add some beading.

I did the same thing for the beading that I did with the dress...I started collecting pictures and found the pattern that I liked best.

I gave all the pictures to the woman I am working with and she got a quote from the factory to make it and I couldn't believe it was only $200 and that included shipping!
